Richard Tompkins, Esq.
Rick concentrates his practice in criminal defense, personal injury and family law. He has established a strong reputation as a litigator and has tried equitable distribution, custody, alimony and support cases. He has handled every aspect of criminal and motor vehicle law ranging from traffic tickets and motor vehicle accidents to homicide cases. He has over 39 years of experience. Although his practice is primarily in Montgomery County, he does venture to all surrounding counties to represent his clients.
Rick graduated from Villanova Law School in 1979. He is a former Assistant District Attorney and head of the Narcotics Enforcement Team for Montgomery County. He also served as the Chair of the Young Lawyers Section of the Montgomery Bar Association. Rick is an active volunteer with the Montgomery County Child Advocacy Project and is extremely involved in athletics. He currently coaches the Abington High School Girls Soccer Team and previously served as an Assistant Coach at Drexel University for their men’s soccer team for 17 years. Rick still serves as counsel for the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association and is the Chair of their Arbitration Committee.
In addition to his legal and athletic interests, Rick serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Roslyn Boys & Girls Club. He was formerly the President of the Roslyn Boys & Girls Club, the Intercounty Soccer League, the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association and was Vice President of Abington Community United.
Rick has 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren.
